Company Information

Better Mindset Therapy was created in 2023 by Jodie Van Aalsburg. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California. Before starting her company, she gained eight years of experience in therapy services. Previous experiences have been with End of Life Care, Memory Care Community, and guiding families through Death with Dignity.

At her company, she strives to create an authentic, welcoming atmosphere for her clients to explore their lives in a new way.  She has experience helping children, adolescents, and adults with anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem, coping skills, and more. Here we use the therapeutic relationship to explore your early life experiences and bring unconscious thoughts and patterns into the conscious awareness.

Jodie completed her Master’s Degree in Social Work at California State University, Fullerton. Since 2016, she has worked in the human services field with individuals, groups, children, and families. She has experience working with crisis intervention, end of life care, death with dignity, accessing community resources, grief support, anxiety, depression, and psychosocial issues related to aging and dementia. 

In her educational and professional experience, she’s gained knowledge and experience with different treatment modalities. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution focused therapy, and motivational interviewing. She continues to seek education and training to further her professional knowledge. Her approach is to meet the client where they are and help reach their goals in a supportive and understanding environment.

Better Mindset Therapy is a mental health practice that provides simple, action-oriented therapy with a focus on solutions and lasting positive change. Our approach helps people identify unhealthy thoughts and behaviors. Most commonly these are associated with feelings of depression, anxiety, and interpersonal conflict. We strive to provide people with tangible skills that enable you to think and behave in ways that promote inner confidence, strength, and achievement of goals.
